Grandview Heights Bobcats

Athletic Department

A message from the Principal:

Dear Bobcat Families, Fans, and Friends,

Join me in saluting the Bobcats! We, at Grandview Heights High School, feel that athletic practice and team competition present great opportunities for growth and maturation in areas of fitness, good sportsmanship, cooperation, time management, responsibility, and commitment. We are very proud to have these athletes represent our school.

We credit our dedicated coaches and teachers with cultivating this growth. Indeed, we owe these individuals a great debt of gratitude for all their work to impart academic aptitude and athletic ability; assets that will serve our students well for the rest of their lives.

Of course, we acknowledge the great import of the support given by parents and community businesses. A loyal fan club does much to encourage our young athletes, and demonstrates to them our desire to see them excel academically, learn fair play, and acquire respect for others.

Providing these youth with wholesome opportunities to develop as people is truly a triumphant hunt - go Bobcats!

Respectfully,
Ellen White

About Sportsmanship

Extracurricular activities hold great value in the educational process, because they grant students the opportunity to develop life-skills that have little relevance in a traditional classroom setting.

Where else will your child learn lessons of sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity than in real-life situations? It is therefore vital that we - the administrators, participants, adult supervisors, fans, and parents - demonstrate these qualities in these real-life situations as well. For this reason, we expect anyone attending a Bobcat event to conduct themselves accordingly - in a way that encourages good sportsmanship, fair play, and responsible decisions.

Any person who behaves violently, with vulgarity, or is generally disputive will be asked to leave the event. In some cases, admission to future events may be denied as well.

So, please cheer the Bobcats on! Make sure they feel your support through the good and bad. And, most importantly, help them realize that every hunt is a triumph when standards of sportmanship and good ethic are upheld.
